Daniel Taylor is the latest inductee into the Strovis Character Counts Awards.

Daniel was inducted May 8 at a banquet held at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Georgetown.

A member of the Georgetown High School boys tennis team, Daniel was nominated for the award by his coaches, Adam and Grace George.

The Strovis Character Counts program honors student-athletes who excel in their chosen sport, as well as in life. Students who hold strong character traits are selected for the award, which comes with a $50 cash prize.

Eighteen students will be inducted for the 2017-18 school year, and one of those students will be named the Strovis Character Counts Student-Athlete of the Year.

When nominating Daniel for the award, his coaches listed a series of character traits that make him the perfect choice for the award. His certificate read: “For outstanding performance as a 2017-2018 member of the Georgetown High School Boys Tennis Team & for always giving 100 percent and being the very definition of a team player & for being dependable, helpful, hard-working, determined and creative, clearly demonstrating that Character Counts.”

Strovis Chief Marketing Officer Mark A. Stevens presented Daniel with his award.

Strovis partnered with the Georgetown High School Bulldogs Athletic Booster Club to create the awards program in the fall of 2017.
