Melquan Cromedy honored as the 2018/2019 Boys Track Team Strovis Character Counts Award Recipient

Mr. Melquan Cromedy received the Strovis Character Counts Award for the 2018/2019 boys track team on May 23, 2019.   Mr. Cromedy was chosen to receive this honor for his display of dedication to his team.  The award was presented by Strovis Holdings Chief Operating Officer, Tracy Mau, as well as Jessica Sasser, Georgetown Booster Club President.  The Strovis Character Counts Award is given to one outstanding athlete from each sport at Georgetown High School.  The recipient is chosen by the coaching team and council and is given to a student that shows outstanding character in their every day life.

Mrs. Mau told the crowd “Character is what you do when no one is looking.  It is who you are inside and it will carry you a long way through life.  Coupled with a good education, the sky is the limit.”  Mr. Cromedy is a senior and will be graduating in June, 2019.  Mr. Cromedy was accompanied by his coach, Robert Scott.  Strovis honors one of each of the 18 sports at Georgetown High School.

The Strovis Character Counts program honors student-athletes who excel in their chosen sport, as well as in life. Students who hold strong character traits are selected for the award. They are nominated by members of the coaching staff.

Strovis partnered with the Georgetown High School Bulldogs Athletic Booster Club to create the awards program in the fall of 2017. The Booster Club remains a co-sponsor for the 2018-2019 school year.

Greyson Freeman is awarded the Strovis Character Counts Award for the Girls Soccer Team 19/20

Georgetown High School soccer player, Greyson Freeman was named as the recipient of the 2018-2019 Strovis Character Counts Award for the Georgetown High School girls soccer team.

The award was presented at the girls soccer teams annual awards banquet held at Georgetown Presbyterian church on May 2, 2019.

A committee including soccer coach, Major Shawn Studley chose Ms. Freeman for her willingness to be a team player and demonstrating commitment and dedication daily.

Ms. Freeman, one of 18 student-athletes who have been honored as a Strovis Character Counts award winner for the school year, was presented with a certificate as well as a $50 gift card by Strovis Chief Operating Officer, Tracy Mau as well as Georgetown High School Booster Club President, Jessica Sasser.
