Hunting. Fishing. Crabbing. Shrimping. Boating. Kayaking. If any of those activities sparks your interest, you may very well know all about Pawleys Island Outdoors.

The hunting and fishing store can now add another specialty to its name: Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month. The store will be honored throughout September with the designation.

The Business of the Month Award honors Chamber-member businesses for being leaders in the community, and Strovis is proud to serve as the official corporate sponsor. A special 7-foot-tall banner is displayed at the chosen business throughout the month, signifying the establishment as an award-winning Chamber member. In addition to the banner, a special framed certificate is also presented to the honored business.

Strovis Insurance President Allen Altman and Strovis Holdings Chief Operating Officer Tracy Mau attended the Sept. 4 presentation and thanked members of the Pawleys Island Outdoors staff for being a Chamber of Commerce member. Strovis has served as the award’s official corporate sponsor since 2017.

The store, established in 2006 and located at 9790 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island, offers myriad items for the sporting enthusiast. For fishermen, there are baits and lures, rods and reels, and even classes for beginners. For hunters, the shop offers rifles and ammo and even specialty items for hunting alligators. For those who want to catch their dinner, the shop offers crab traps, drop nets and more for anyone want to try their hand at crabbing, just as cast nets and bait are available for those who would like to do a little shrimping.

Pawleys Island Outdoors also offers boats and kayaks. The store is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Altman, on behalf of Strovis, thanked the store’s staff for being leaders in the business community.

“Businesses here in Georgetown County are dependent on one another to make our community a great place to work and live,” Altman said. “The success of Pawleys Island Outdoors is a blessing to us all.”
